How indie gospel artists get discovered — a real guide

Talent isn't the problem. Visibility is. If you're an indie gospel artist with real songs and a real calling, this is the playbook — what to do, in what order, and where to do it without running yourself in ten directions.

I'm not giving you theory. This is what works when you're not on a label budget and you still believe God gave you something the city needs to hear.

Step 1 — Build a home worth visiting

Before you chase strangers, fix your house.

Social clips are billboards. Your Artist Home is the address. Every post should drive people somewhere that has Like, Bless, Buy, and Put on air buttons — not just a stream count.

Step 2 — Get into rotation (get on the jukebox)

Discovery without airtime is a poster on a wall nobody walks past.

Rotation is how strangers hear you without knowing your name yet. That's discovery in motion.

Step 3 — Run chart week like a campaign

Chart week isn't vanity. It's public proof that worshippers are rallying behind you.

  1. Free ♥ Like rallies — family, church group, peer artists. Top 10 is earned with free Support, not bought.
  2. Bless below Top 10 — fans who want to fund you and help momentum at #11+
  3. One Interrupt pitch — auntie, pastor, super fan. Full song on air. Only Interrupt jumps the queue.
  4. Screenshot and thank people — even #18 is a win when you're indie. Gratitude spreads.

Step 4 — Use social as a funnel, not a destination

YouTube, Instagram, TikTok — use them. Don't live there.

Post where the people are. Convert them home where the money and chart have instructions.

Step 5 — Activate your street team

You don't need a manager on day one. You need three people who will actually show up.

Step 6 — Show up live

Nothing confirms an artist like presence.

Step 7 — Stay consistent for 90 days

One post won't discover you. One chart week won't either. The artists who break through indie noise do boring faithfulness:

Why Alabasta is the one-stop place for all of this

I'm not telling you to quit every other platform. I'm telling you to stop fragmenting your discovery across ten tabs that don't talk to each other.

Alabasta — City of Worshippers is built so indie gospel artists can do the whole lane in one city:

YouTube finds them. Alabasta is where they bless you, chart you, and put you on air.

That's why I call it a discovery and fundraising platform — not another streaming app.

Founding season — if you're ready now

First 50 gospel artists join free while we fill the jukebox with real voices. If you have originals and integrity in the gospel lane, apply. I'll review personally.
